Menopause in Context Waiting Interest List Now Open
UK-based, delivered in-person, remotely and on-site.
Mycore Psychological Consulting provides discreet, psychologically informed support for people and organisations carrying complexity: health change, high responsibility, critical moments, sustained demand and the pressures that are not always visible from the outside.
Calm judgement. Clear boundaries. Governed support under pressure.
Who Mycore Supports
For people who are outwardly capable, but privately carrying a great deal.
For organisations that value thoughtful psychological input before pressure becomes crisis.
Support is available in person in Chester, North West and remotely across the UK & Europe.
You do not have to wait for crisis before seeking a different kind of support.
Whether you are looking for individual psychological support, organisational input or a menopause-informed programme, an initial conversation can help clarify the most appropriate next step.

Senior psychological support for complex lives, in-person or remotely.
For anxiety, burnout, trauma, grief, neurodivergence, health change, life transition and times when capacity no longer feels as reliable as it once did.

Clear psychological thinking for demanding environments.
Retained support, leadership consultation, critical-incident guidance and psychologically informed input for organisations managing complexity, change and sustained pressure.

A wider conversation about a significant life-stage transition.
Menopause-informed psychological care that brings together biology, sleep, health complexity, memory, work, relationships, nervous-system demand and lived experience.

When the picture is more complex than a symptom list.
A structured, confidential way to understand how your medical health, history, stress, relationships, work and nervous-system patterns are interacting and what may help next.
Mycore integrates evidence-informed psychotherapy with a neuroscience-informed, biopsychosocial perspective.
The work moves beyond simplified explanations. It considers the interaction between brain, body, sleep, autonomic regulation, memory, health, identity, relationships and environment.
This is support that is both clinically grounded and relevant to real life.
When load exceeds capacity, flexibility can narrow, protection can activate and agency can reduce.
Understanding the pattern is often the beginning of changing it.

Reliable support when pressure is not predictable.
Some organisations do not need a large wellbeing programme. They need trusted access to senior psychological judgement when something complex happens.
Mycore retainer support may include:
leadership consultation, critical-incident support, confidential staff provision, psychologically informed workshops. Guidance around high -impact workplace situations.

Menopause does not happen in isolation.
Changing hormones are only part of the picture. Sleep, health, pain, work, caregiving, memory, relationships, neurodivergence. Plus cumulative load of daily life can all shape how menopause is experienced.
Menopause in Context™ is a developing programme of small-group workshops and individual formulation support for women seeking a more complete understanding of changing capacity.
Additional training and approaches include EMDR, CBT, Somatic CBT, trauma-informed practice, HeartMath® resilience coaching and neuroscience-informed biopsychosocial formulation.
Rebecca Downes is the Director of Mycore Psychological Consulting Ltd, a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist and Senior Psychological Practitioner.
Before retraining in psychotherapy, Rebecca worked in strategic HR — experience that continues to shape her understanding of leadership pressure, organisational dynamics and high-responsibility roles.
Since 2008, she has provided psychological support across private practice and demanding professional environments, including retained support, leadership consultation and critical-incident work.
Her approach combines calm judgement, emotional intelligence, clear boundaries and a neuroscience-informed biopsychosocial perspective. Rebecca is also developing the NSCF–CTA™ Framework, helping individuals and organisations understand how load, capacity, threat and agency can shape wellbeing and performance. The framework supports careful clinical pacing, helping identify when deeper therapeutic work may be appropriate and when the priority is to reduce load, strengthen capacity and increase safety first.
When load exceeds available capacity, flexibility can narrow, protection can activate and agency can reduce.
